topped the New York Yankees by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Philadelphia was victorious in
the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Sam Chapman banged out a single.
Paul Lehner came next and he slapped a one-base hit. Eddie Joost then laced
a single making Philadelphia the victors to the delight of the home town
faithful. Philadelphia finished with 8 hits in the victory.
Joe Coleman(3-5) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Tom
Ferrick(9-4) was charged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 4 hits and
