Tommy Byrne was on top of his game, blanking Washington on just 3 hits at
Yankee Stadium where the New York Yankees beat the struggling Washington
Senators 9 to 0.
Byrne(8-2) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Washington offense. He
surrendered only 3 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.40
to 3.92. New York managed 11 in their victory.
Bob Kuzava(4-4) was given the loss. New York continued on their recent roll,
their winning streak now reaching 6 games and counting.
