John Mize cracked a homer and had 4 RBI as the very potent New York Yankees



defeated the hopeless St. Louis Browns by a score of 13 to 6 at Yankee



Stadium.







Mize helped send the fans home happy. He doubled bringing in two baserunners



in the 1st inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 36th of the season) in



the 7th inning. New York bats were very productive in the 1st inning when



they had 4 runs on 5 hits and the 7th inning with 5 runs on 6 hits. For the



game New York out-hit St. Louis 22 to 14.







Vic Raschi(11-11) was the winner allowing 5 runs in 7 innings. Harry



Dorish(1-11) was charged with the loss. He was unable to control the New



York offense and allowed 15 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
