Cliff Mapes went deep and had 2 RBI and Vic Raschi was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game as the New York Yankees
outscored the Cleveland Indians 11 to 3.
New York brought 7 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning when they had 8
base hits. That early scoring held up. New York banged out 11 on the
afternoon.
The victory went to Raschi(12-11) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Mike
Garcia(10-4) was charged with the loss. New York scored big getting 8 runs
off him in 2 and 1/3 innings.
