Roy Sievers left the yard as the St. Louis Browns beat the New York Yankees by
a score of 5 to 2.
St. Louis won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning with 3 runs
using 5 hits. Sievers got things rolling when he hit a bases-empty home run
(his 7th of the season). George Stirnweiss came next and he stroked a
single. After an out was recorded, Les Moss came to the plate and blasted a
two-run home run (his 6th of the season). St. Louis had 11 hits for the game
and New York had 8.
Cuddles Marshall(2-3) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Al Widmar
was credited with his 2nd save. Ed Lopat(13-6) was hit with the loss.
