Bob Kennedy had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cleveland Indians outscored the
New York Yankees in 10 innings 2 to 1.
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. Cleveland ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. After two outs Al Rosen drew a walk. Kennedy
stepped up next and he tripled giving Cleveland the win much to the delight
of the home town crowd. Overall Cleveland out-hit New York 9 to 3.
Jesse Flores(4-5) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Joe
Page(4-4) was hit with the loss in relief. Cleveland extended their winning
streak to 6 games. Casey Stengel was very irritated after the contest. 'Just
our luck to run into a team that's playing like a juggernaut right now. I
have to congratulate Lou Boudreau on his team's recent performance. A very
impressive run.'
