Catcher Yogi Berra lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 4 RBI as the

dominant New York Yankees topped the hopeless St. Louis Browns by a score of

13 to 4 at Sportsman's Park.

doubled scoring two baserunners in the 3rd inning and cleared the fences for

a two-run home run (his 29th of the season) in the 4th inning. New York

provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning with 5 runs on 5 hits. For the

game New York out-hit St. Louis 21 to 15.

Ed Lopat(16-6) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Cliff
