Charlie Keller touched them all and had 4 RBI as the Detroit Tigers defeated

the New York Yankees 9 to 4 at Yankee Stadium.



Keller provided much of the offense. He tripled bringing in two baserunners

in the 1st inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 6th of the season) in the

5th inning. New York was out-hit by Detroit, 14 hits to 10.



Fred Hutchinson(6-9) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Vic

Raschi(10-11) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around pretty good,

giving up 7 runs in 4 innings.
