Allie Reynolds held Washington scoreless on just 2 hits and Joe Dimaggio had 4
hits and scored 3 times as the strong New York Yankees topped the Washington
Senators by a score of 7 to 0 at Yankee Stadium.
Reynolds(15-5) was simply too much for the Washington batters. He didn't
allow much, just 2 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. New York rapped out 18 hits
for the night.
The losing pitcher was Sid Hudson(11-11). He allowed 15 hits and 2 walks in 5
innings. 'He was moving it around and spotting it very well.' Bucky Harris
said. Reynolds pitched a great game. He deserves all the credit.'
