Ed Lopat tossed a complete game at Yankee Stadium as the phenomenal New York

Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians by the count of 5 to 3.



New York had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the

help of 3 hits. That was all the offense they were to need. The pitchers

took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.



Lopat(14-6) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Early Wynn(14-6)

took the loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9 hits and 4 walks.
