In a close game it was the New York Yankees 8, the Washington Senators 6 in 12
innings at Griffith Stadium.
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. New York came out the
victor in the 12th inning. Gene Woodling opened up the inning nicely when he
stroked a one-base hit. Bobby Brown stepped into the batter's box and he
doubled bringing in a run. Charlie Silvera then smacked a single. Joe Page
was up next and he lined a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning.
Washington went down without a fight in the bottom of the 12th.
The victory went to Page(3-3) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. The losing
pitcher was Sandy Consuegra(4-10) in relief. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 3 runs in 2 innings.
