Allie Reynolds whiffed 10 batters and Phil Rizzuto had 2 base hits as the
incredible New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox 7 to 5 at Comiskey
Park.
Reynolds(10-4) gave a fine effort for New York. He allowed 5 hits and 5 walks
in 7 and 2/3 innings. New York had 12 hits for the game and Chicago had 6.
Joe Page earned the save, his 6th. Howie Judson(5-5) suffered the loss. Jack
Onslow was impressed with Reynolds and his 10 strikeouts. 'It's tough to
generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'
